Lisa Gause grew up in orange county California. Since a young age she always dreamed of being a nurse. She wanted to follow in the footsteps of her namesake Aunt who was an Army Nurse and lived in Alaska. The whole concept seemed so exciting!

With that goal in mind, Lisa went to nursing school straight out of high school and graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from BIOLA university in 1993. She practiced in many different areas of nursing for several years first at the VA in Long Beach and then St Jude Medical Center before she decided that she wanted a little more excitement and autonomy. She completed her Master’s of Science in Nursing with a family practice specialty at UCLA in 2000.  With so many different and interesting things to choose from she began with family medicine at Kaiser and the VA. Then seeing a chance to make a difference in people’s lives she moved on to nutrition and weight management. Next came a chance to be part of a research and rheumatology practice. Finally, she realized she wanted to go back to a more proactive and wellness-based practice to help patients reach their optimum health and she came on board with OCWP in 2019.

Outside of the office fitness and nutrition still play big part in her day-to-day life.  Liking nothing better than to hit the gym or take her dog for long walks on the beach. For a little fun, her favorite things are baking, travelling with her husband or group of friends, or spending a few hours with a good book.  By the way, she never managed to be an Army nurse or live in Alaska, but her Aunt is still proud of her and there is plenty of excitement to go around.
