Dr. Van Dusen graduated from California State University of Northridge with a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology and an emphasis in athletic training. Dr. Van Dusen followed his undergraduate studies with a Doctorate program at Southern California University of Health Sciences where he received his Doctorate of Chiropractic. Beginning in 1997 as an EMT and then a Certified Athletic Trainer, Dr. Van Dusen has been providing sports medicine coverage for high school and college athletic events, professional sporting events, Junior All American Football, CrossFit and more.
Dr. Van Dusen has extensive experience with sports, sports injuries, and the challenges of being a competitive athlete. He is currently active with CrossFit, olympic lifting and coaching multiple sports for his kids. Dr. Van Dusen holds an advanced training certification with AYSO soccer as well as an “E” license with CalSouth soccer. His diverse experience with sports and sports injuries gives him first-hand knowledge of what specific treatment it takes to return to competition. Since 1997 Dr. Van Dusen has been educating elite athletes and others on the importance of proper nutrition combined with adequate exercise to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Dr. Van Dusen’s integrated approach to treatment includes the co-management of patients’ new and existing conditions with other healthcare professionals in the office including a neurosurgeon, a cardiologist, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, physical therapists, massage therapists, acupuncturists and more. Patient centered care, catering treatment to suit each individual patient and being proactive in creating healthy living are core values of Dr. Van Dusen’s vision for his patients.
Dr. Van Dusen’s true passion is enjoying the time he spends with his wife and three children, being active in their lives and helping those in need maximize their health potential.
